FUTA sits with government so traders are in the room
The federation’s work is not only a press conference. It is meetings in government offices — under the Uganda flag — where traders’ files are actually held.

FUTA’s partnership with government is a working relationship, not a slogan. Officers of the federation take traders’ concerns into the rooms where policy is written — State House, the Office of the Prime Minister, Finance, KCCA, URA and other desks that hold the files.
Meetings of this kind are how a stall in Gulu or an arcade in Kampala gets onto an official agenda: lists, letters, and people sitting across a table until a commitment is followed through.
The federation’s line remains the September briefing: we want a good relationship, and we want delivery — fair flood-relief lists, trade order that does not confiscate a livelihood, and tax systems that are consulted before they are imposed.
